Frequently asked questions

How do I sign in?

Urban Quest uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. On the welcome screen, tap the option you prefer and follow the prompts from Apple or Google. We never see or store your password — sign-in is handled securely by Apple or Google, and we only receive the basic profile details needed to create your account. If sign-in isn't working, make sure you're connected to the internet and running the latest version of the app, then try again. Still stuck? Email support@urbanquestapp.com.

Why does Urban Quest need my location?

Urban Quest is a location-based adventure: the story is triggered by where you physically are, so the app needs your location to know when you've reached a point of interest and to guide you to the next one. Quests continue to advance the story while your phone is in your pocket or the screen is off. On iPhone that is why the app may ask for "Always" (background) location access — you can play with location set to "While Using the App," but background-aware quests work best with "Always." On Android the app never asks for background location: while a quest leg is running it shows a notification and keeps checking your location from there, and it stops as soon as you arrive.

To manage location access:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Urban Quest — choose Never, Ask Next Time, While Using the App, or Always.
  • Android: Settings > Location > App permissions (or Settings > Apps > Urban Quest > Permissions > Location) — choose your preferred level of access.

You can change or revoke this at any time, and we only use your location to power the experience while you play.

How do I restore purchases or manage my Premium subscription?

Urban Quest Premium is billed through your App Store account. If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, open Urban Quest, go to your Profile, open Go Premium (or Payment Methods), and tap Restore previous purchase to bring back your Premium access — just be signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

To view, change, or cancel your subscription, manage it directly in your App Store account:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > Urban Quest.

From there you can see your renewal date, change plans, or cancel. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period.

Why do I see ads, and how do I remove them?

Free quests are supported by occasional ads, which is what lets us offer them at no cost. Urban Quest Premium removes ads across the app, and paid quests never show ads. When you first open the app, iOS shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether Urban Quest can track you to deliver personalized ads. Your choice is completely up to you — if you decline, you'll still see ads, just non-personalized ones, and nothing about your experience changes. You can update this choice anytime under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your device.

How do I delete my account?

You can permanently delete your account and your data from inside the app:

  1. Open Urban Quest and go to your Profile tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Profile screen, below Sign Out.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm in the dialog that appears.

This permanently removes your account and associated data and cannot be undone. If you have any trouble, email support@urbanquestapp.com and we'll help.

How do I report or block content?

Quests in Urban Quest are created by our community and reviewed before they go live. If you ever come across content that seems inappropriate, you can act on it right inside the app: open the quest or creator in question, tap the … (more) menu, and use Report content to flag it for our team, or use Block to stop seeing content from a creator. We review every report and take action on anything that violates our guidelines. You can also reach us at support@urbanquestapp.com.
