# Privacy Policy – Urban Quest

This Privacy Policy describes how **Blue Pelican Digital LLC** (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application Urban Quest (the “App”), a location-based interactive storytelling experience that uses GPS to guide users through real-world locations. This policy is intended to comply with **Apple App Store privacy and location disclosure requirements** and **Google Play data-safety requirements**.

## 1. Information We Collect
### a. Personal Information
We collect personal information that you provide when you sign in or interact with the App, including:
– **Account identifiers** (Apple ID or Google ID) used to authenticate your sign-in
– **Email address** associated with your Apple or Google account, used for support and account-related communication
– **Display name or username** if you choose to set one
The App requires sign-in to access core functionality (saving quest progress, syncing across devices, and creator features). Sign-in is performed exclusively through Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google; we do not collect or store passwords directly.
### b. Location Information (Required for Core Functionality)
The App collects **precise location information (GPS)** to enable its core functionality.
We use your location data to:
– Guide you through story locations and real-world stops
– Unlock and trigger story content when you arrive at specific locations
– Ensure accurate progression through the experience
**Location data is collected while you are using the App, including in the background while you are actively playing a quest** — this lets the App detect when you arrive at a waypoint and notify you even when the App is not open. Background location collection stops when the quest leg ends. We do not share your precise (GPS) location with advertisers or use it for marketing.
If you do not allow location access, the App will not function as intended.
### c. User-Generated Content
If you create or publish content within the App (for example, quests, scenes, narration, or media uploads via our creator tools), we collect and store that content as necessary to make it available to other users. By submitting user-generated content, you grant us the licenses described in our Terms & Conditions.
### d. Usage and Diagnostic Data
We may automatically collect limited non-identifying information, including:
– App interactions and story progress
– Device type and operating system
– Crash logs and performance diagnostics
This information is used solely to improve App stability and user experience.
### e. Advertising and the Advertising Identifier
Free quests are supported by ads served through **Google AdMob**. To request and measure these ads, the App and AdMob may access your device’s **advertising identifier** (the IDFA on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android), along with limited device and usage information.
On iOS, we ask for your permission through Apple’s **App Tracking Transparency (ATT)** prompt before any tracking takes place. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we present a **Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)** consent form. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (less relevant).
We do not share your precise (GPS) location with advertisers; AdMob may infer your approximate location from your IP address as described in Google’s policies. Players who purchase a quest or subscribe to Premium do not see ads. ## 2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
– Operate and provide the App’s core features
– Deliver location-based story content
– Authenticate sign-in and maintain your account
– Provide customer support
– Improve performance, reliability, and usability
– Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
We do **not** use your account information or precise (GPS) location to target ads. Free quests display ads served by Google AdMob using your device’s advertising identifier, as described in Section 1(e) and subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice.
## 3. Payments and Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through the **Apple App Store** (on iOS) or **Google Play** (on Android) and managed using **RevenueCat**.
We do not collect or store your full payment information. Payment data is handled directly by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
## 4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We may share limited information only in the following cases:
– **Service Providers:** With trusted third-party providers (such as RevenueCat) strictly for App functionality and purchase management
– **Advertising:** With **Google AdMob** to serve and measure ads in free quests, using your device’s advertising identifier, subject to your App Tracking Transparency / consent choice (see Section 1(e))
– **Legal Compliance:** If required by law or valid legal process
– **Business Transfers:** In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
All third parties are required to safeguard your data and use it only for authorized purposes.
Depending on where you live, allowing personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. You can opt out at any time through the App Tracking Transparency prompt (iOS), the consent controls described in Section 1(e), or your device’s advertising-identifier settings.
## 5. Data Retention
We retain personal and location-related data only for as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. Location data is not stored long-term unless required for functionality or legal compliance.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention or financial records).
## 6. Your Privacy Choices
You may:
– **Enable or disable location access** at any time through your device settings.
– **Request access to or deletion of your personal information.** To delete your account and associated personal data, email us at **[email protected]** with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” from the email address associated with your account, or use the in-app account deletion option in your profile settings.
– **Opt out of non-essential communications** at any time through the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
Disabling location services will prevent the App from delivering its core experience.
## 7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under the minimum age of digital consent required by law in your jurisdiction). When you sign up, we ask for your date of birth on a neutral age screen and **do not create an account for anyone under 13**; we use this only to determine eligibility and do not store your date of birth. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it as soon as practicable. ## 8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID or Google account credentials secure.
## 9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website or within the App with an updated effective date. Material changes will be announced through the App or via email where appropriate.
